Chance and I have a (new to us) truck!!! Woohoo! It's a 2005 Ford F250, with all the bells and whistles! It isn't the brand that we were looking for exactly, but it was in our price range and had everything we wanted and then some. This beast even has a sun roof, say wuh?! On a truck! Crazy. And for your viewing pleasure....

The story:

We knew our old truck was going to bite the dust, and we still owed $5,800. Boo. So we saved our pennies and had about $3,000 to put toward a new truck. (BTW it is soooo hard to save money, especially when you need other stuff along the way. It was so worth it though!)

We shopped around online and decided we wanted to go with Trucks Only in the valley. They seemed to have what we were wanting coming and going, so we decided to wait for a good deal. One presented itself and we decided it was time to put in for pre-approval. Sweet! A fella from T.O. called the next day, but we weren't able to make it to the valley until a week later. At any rate, we went on Wednesday and were sooo nervous about getting there! Chance's cousin (who had a truck and trailer just in case) told us to just go, and if we broke down he would come rescue us. (Thanks Collin! :)

We said a prayer, and hoped for the best! We made it through Globe, and then Superior! No problems! We made it to Apache Junction and onto the exit ramp... then we hit the stop light at the end of the ramp. DEATH OF TRUCK! Yep, our trusty, rusty steed made it most of the way, but not all of it. (It wasn't really rusty, that just sounded funny to me!) We didn't know what to do; we were about 5 miles from the dealership. Some nice road worker guys helped us push the truck out of the way, and into a separate turn lane that wasn't heavily used. WHEW! Chance decided to call the dealer that talked to us earlier that week and see if he could be of any help. WOW!

They came and picked us up, called a tow truck, gave us $4,500 for the broken truck (way way way more than what we were even hoping for!) and gave us a great deal on the new truck to boot. We had originally signed for a 7% interest rate and thought we were doing great since our last loan had an 11%. But when we got home with the new truck the dealership called... they had found a lender that would give us a 4% rate! We needed to sign new papers within a day or two and Chance had to work the next day, so driving back to the valley that same day was our only option, but I had a meeting at 6 and mutual at 7 that I had to be back for. Chance asked if the dealer could maybe meet us somewhere, and we decided on Superior. We signed the papers and made it back home just in time! Trucks Only seriously rocks my socks. Picking us up, buying our broken truck, finding us the best interest rate and bending over backwards to get it to us.

To top it off, we have TWO runnig cars now, and I will never be stuck at home again!!! WAHOO!

Random Adventures

Chance has been working a lot of overtime lately, so I have been left to my own means for entertainment a lot more than usual. (That's a recipe for disaster if there ever was one!)

Today I made my second attempt at Dulce De Leche. It's a delicious, gooey treat made from sweetened condensed milk. Normally, you can just boil the whole can (unopened) for 3 hours, but I am hesitant to try that method, as there are risks involved (ie. the can can EXPLODE). Can I please, oh please, blow up my kitchen? No? OK. Anyway, I did a little research and found that you can get the same results with a double boiler. I tried it for the first time a few months ago, but wasn't patient enough to wait the hour for it to cook. This time, however, I waited. I set the timer and walked away... without the timer.

While I was happily frolicking in blog land, anticipating my yummy desert, my double boiler ran out of water and burned most of my dulce de leche. *bring on the pouty face* Fortunately, I was able to save about half of the delicious treat by pouring it into a bowl before it burned all the way. I enjoyed it with an apple, and ate almost all of it! Mmm!

Duke continues to learn the naughty things. I thought I had out smarted him when I put a lid on the kitchen garbage, but he soon found that if he pushed on it, it would swing open and reveal the goodies inside! Now I put the lid on, AND put a gate in front of it. HA! Take that, smarty pants dog! All that aside, he is still my little pal and I love having him around! He makes me laugh all the time! When we get home after a few hours away, he is just too excited to see us; his lips curl up and he literally smiles with his front teeth! Funniest thing ever! Whenever he wants out, he jumps at the door, then looks at me and barks. Sometimes, I bark back, then him, then me, etc. We can go back and forth for a good long while before he gets bored with me! It's hard for me to know when he really needs out though, because he loves to chase lizards and anything else fast and small! I wish we had a fenced in yard so I could let him out and not worry about him wandering too far. Someday!

I am planning on making a jean quilt in the near future, but I think I will hold off till fall, as my house still gets into the mid 80's on the hotter days. It will be a lot nicer having a mass if fabric on me when I am trying to keep warm instead of cool!

Our garden is... huge. I have started watering it every day, and that really helped our vine plants, but I am pretty sure it killed our corn. I totally have mushrooms growing in there with it. Yuck. The vine plants are doing great, however! I have zucchini, cucumbers, and cantaloupe that are producing like crazy! My watermelon and pumpkin are in there with the corn though... neh. There are weeds everywhere, and they are thriving. There were too many to keep up on, so I quit! (Sue me!) Just kidding, judge away! I just didn't want to brave the heat of the day to tend my garden after 2 months of it. It's almost the end of the season for it anyway. AND we have grass now! It's not that wonderful, and is till rather sparse, but I love to look out my front window and see green instead of dirt. Or even weeds for that matter.

That's about all for my ramblings of the day. If you made it to the end of this post, then good for you! :) Sorry no pictures!

Ah-ah-ah-aaaaaahhh!

Well, that was supposed to be like what you hear at the end of a Disney movie from the choirs of awesomeness. I don't know if it came across that way though... anyhow!

I feel the need to blog today, since it's been a while and all, but I really don't have much to blog about.

I just went to Girl's Camp last week! That was fun! We were supposed to go to the camp in Alpine, but with the Wallow fire, it just didn't happen. We went to Virden, NM and stayed in tents instead! Wo-hoo. It was freakin' hot! I will say that the nights were very pleasant though, and I got to sleep under the stars the second night! I had a cot I was going to bring to sleep on, but I had SO much other luggage (being a cabin leader, I had to bring a few extra things for the girls to have ;). I decided to fore go the cot and rough it! Ouch. Just plain ouch.

I was over the second levels and had 10 girls in my "cabin." Our cabin theme was the "Lovely Ladies." Our scripture was Proverbs 31: 25-30. Well right here I was going to insert a video of our cabin's skit (which was hilarious!), but blogger won't let me add the stupid video! I am sorry you can't see it's pure awesomeness. Maybe I will try loading it to facebook or something!

So on our second day, we went on a two mile hike... in the heat. But then we got to go swimming! We all loaded up and hauled the girls to Lordsburg, NM. I didn't swim, but the girls seemed to love it! Another thing about camp is that there were no showers... for the girls hehehe! There were only two showers where we were at, and they were reserved for the leaders only. Some of the girls were upset when they found out. But, they got to clean up a bit at the pool, so it wasn't that bad.

I am pretty sure I got dehydrated while I was at camp. On the last day (the day we came home) I had a sore throat, but figured I just needed some more water. I drank two route 44 waters from Sonic and then some. Boy did I have to pee all day. I am sure you were dying to know that, right? Anyway, I think it turned into something else, because now three days later I still have throat issues. Although it isn't sore, today I have a lovely little cough. Eck.

And now, to give you nightmares for life, a lovely picture of a lovely bug that was in our lovely tent. He wanted to be a "Lovely Lady," too.

Totally gonna give you nightmares now, eh? :)
My job is done.

Well Crap :)

So today is my birthday! Yay me! I'm 22! For most for my life though, birthdays bring crappiness, and today was no exception!
Chance and I were going to go to Tucson with our cousins, Collin and Hannah, and their cute little girl Jorgan! Well, they got to go with out me because... (drum roll) I have strep! For the second time this month! Poop. But fear not, for I have fun stuff planned for the weekend! And it will be wonderful to see my sister and her family! I am so stinking excited! Love me some family time!!!
Also, a shout out to my Birthday Cousin, Rachel! Happy Birthday!!! :)

Lately

I have to say that I am actually excited for the summer heat! The swamp cooler on our house has been fixed for about a month now and I am LOVING it! Last summer was... terrible. We had a window AC unit which went into our bedroom... so I spent all day, every day in our bedroom. Lame. Good thing we had a tv and a ton of dvd's, and I have an obsessive amount of books, otherwise I would have gone CRAZY. This summer will be WAY different than last summer! Not to mention we have a garden this year! And we are going to plant some grass seed too! I have flower seeds planted, but they are having a little harder time growing since birds keep eating them. Poo.
My sister Heidi is coming for a visit at the end of this month! I can't wait! We are going to have so much fun! I like to consider it to be a late birthday present! ;) (Hehe love ya Heidi Jo!)
Duke is on my list. He digs into every garbage can we own, and no amount of discipline will discourage him. Any advice on how to keep him out of the dirty garbage? Please? I try to keep doors closed and the kitchen garbage blocked off, but I would rather not have to do that forever. Don't get me wrong, Duke is still my little pal and I love him to pieces! He just has an icky habit that needs to be kicked. It's the cutest thing ever to watch Chance and Duke play when Chance gets home from work! Duke gets more excited than ever when he sees Chance after he has been gone all day! (I swear he is more Chance's dog than he is mine! I don't mind though!)
We recently went to a family picnic with my mom's side of the family! We had it for Easter at a park in Mesa (I can't remember the name), and had lots of fun seeing extended family! AND Chance and I got a rare picture together!

Don't we just look super cute! (I think we would look cuter without the sun glasses though :) And I cut my hair about a month ago! It's very fun! And short! It took some getting used to, but now I don't even miss the 6 inches that were cut off. Ok, I seriously think that's all I have for now.

Well... and woohoo!

All of the puppies died. I'm so sad. They can't figure out what happened to the last two, but the Vet. told them something about "failure to thrive," whatever that means. Poor Chloe searched and searched for her little ones, and when she figured out they were gone she was heartbroken. She cuddled with my mom all the next day. Poor thing. She cheered up a little when my dad gave her a ride on the four-wheeler though (it's her favorite thing ever). On a happier note, my sister Heidi is flying down from Idaho next month for a visit!!! Her awesome hubby surprised her with a ticket just in time for her to get off of work! I am soooooo excited! We haven't seen her for quite some time! We are going to have a lot of fun! Junk food, girl-talk, pictures, and more! Unfortunately since then, only 2 are still living. But the two that are left are cute and fat!

Soooo cute right?! My dad came last weekend and brought his tiller! We had our garden planted in 3 hours! It was a lot of work, but I am already starting to see some of plants pop up through the soil! It is so exciting to already see the fruits(ish) hehe of our labors! He loves to cuddle my feet, and I love that he loves to cuddle my feet (they get cold ok?). Funny dog! I had some old shirts from work that were just hanging in my closet, and saw a sweet tutorial from Make It And Love It on how to make a cute ruffled shrug. I decided to try it! I didn't take a picture of the before, just imagine this with a collar and the rest of the shirt. :) I used the left over fabric from the bottom of the shirt to cut into strips for the ruffles.

I had to remove the yellow, since it made the shirt pucker, and covered the hole with this sweet fabric yo yo! I sewed in some beads from some old jewelry.

I gathered the sleeves so that I didn't have to trim them, and sewed in some elastic around the bottom to make it fit better.

This is the finished product! Super cute and best of all... I made it! So many people can't seem to spell the simplest of words (granted I'm not such a wonderful speller either, but at least I try to figure it out if I don't know how to spell something... thank goodness for spell check too). That's not what really gets me going though; it's not knowing the appropriate word to use. For example:
witch, which
there, their, they're
your, you're
woman, women
threw, through
And the list could go on, and on, and on! We learned the differences of these words in school!!! In the younger grades even! We should've known these by the time we graduated high school. I say we because yes, I make these mistakes sometimes too (while texting). It still aggravates the crap out of me. *deep breath*sigh* Ok, I'm done ranting! Sorry for that little schpeel. :)
On to happier things! For Valentines Day we... did absolutely nothing! Chance had just gotten off of a night shift and was super tired aaaaall day. Poor guy. I made him a delicious shrimp scampi dinner and a cute little card telling him that he is the best hubby I could have ever asked for! We went into town the day after and did a little shopping together too! All in all, I had fun just spending time with him!
How was your V-day?! C'mon, tell me! :)

Cold.

Here I SIT.

In my BIG chair.

With a FLUFFY blanket.

And a BOX of Kleenex.

UGH!

Yep, I caught whatever bug is going around. So I thought since I am not going to church today, I would take this opportunity to post something new! Really though, not much IS new.

Mom is several weeks into the nursing program and is always doing some sort of homework. Read, read, read. She has about 10 chapters every week to go through. I would go crazy. Seriously. I am way excited for her though, and I know she will make a great nurse when all of this is through. It's fun to play the patient for her homework assignments!

Chance has been getting some overtime at work lately since they were a man short, due to a fella having knee surgery. The guy has finally recuperated enough to come back to work. That means I get my honey back on his days off! YAY! Overtime is nice, but sometimes it's a little too wearing. But it sure is a blessing when payday comes!

I have been teaching Duke some of the basics... sit, stay, down, and come. He is learning soooo fast! I am having a lot of fun with him. Funny story.... He was trying to get on Chance's lap one night and Chance kept pushing Duke off. I will just get that out of the way right off the bat.)
Ahem.
My mom made it into the nursing program at EAC! Wahoo! And she is going to stay at our house during the days she has to come up here for school! I am really excited, it's going to be a ton of fun having her here! Hopefully they will find a home close to town soon so she doesn't have to commute so stinkin' far! (And that would make their stay more permanent... sweet!) And now Duke has a little inside play-buddy: my mom's Yorkie dog, Chloe. They get along alright, but he is bigger and kinda picks on her. I get to watch her while mom's at school and I have SO much fun with two LITTLE doggies around! :)
Unfortunately, Daisy sees Chloe and thinks she is a moving chew toy. (She IS really fluffy you know.) Poor Chloe. Scares the pee out of her every time. Literally. Poor Daisy too; she has to stay chained up during the day! He was great! Here is our tree, and the cute fun things under it (non of which were actual gifts yet).
This year's Christmas was rather mellow. Chance took Thanksgiving off and we were able to spend it with my family. However, that killed his chances of having Christmas off! I'm sure his schedule for next year won't be as demanding. Anywho, we celebrated last Tuesday with his dad's family, and then I spent Christmas Eve with his mom's family. He worked all day on Christmas Eve and all day Christmas. Poo. But fear not, I surprised him with a special dinner! I made a yummy cranberry/apple/cinnamon drink, ham, cheesy potatoes, a salad, and finished it with a pumpkin crumble dessert! Since he hates tomatoes, I even left them out of the salad and put some on mine separate! I wanted everything to be perfect, and it was! He enjoyed it a lot! I can't wait till next year! I would post more pictures, but they don't want to upload the right way, and I am running out of patience. So, rather than throw my pretty-mini-lappy-top into the fire, I will be patient and post more pictures later! :D
Thank you to everyone for the lovely gifts, sweet cards, and time spent together! I loved the holiday season, and getting to make it special for others! Happy New Year in less than a week! Anyone have any resolutions for the new year?!?

Hello Again!

Things have really been great lately! We surprised my mom this year! I told her that Chance had to work... even cried to make it more believable! (Sorry mom!) We went to my sister Jacqueline's house in Payson. We had such a fun time, but really missed our sister Heidi and her family! We even went shopping on Thanksgiving night and black friday... NEVER AGAIN!!! I hate shopping anyhow, but wanted to spend some quality time with mom and jac. There were sooooo many people, and I hate crowds. To top it, I was severely sleep deprived, and VERY grouchy (sorry to all who had to deal with me *cough* mom and jac *cough*). :D I did get one cute thing out of the whole shopping experience that was WAY worth it...

This adorable sweater for Duke!

My brother Heath and his sweet family also came, and I got to hold their cute baby Elayna! She is such a sweetie, and has the cutest chubby cheeks ever! Unfortunately, she spits up like any other baby will do. She happened to spit up while I was holding her, and I FREAKED OUT! There was no help or mercy from anyone! I had to clean her myself. I cleaned her and went on my merry way, only to have her spit up yet again... and much more than the first time. I screamed. Literally. Elayna started to cry. Then I felt bad and almost started to cry too. And gag. Oh dear. Thank goodness for Uncle Bronson coming to save the day! He wiped Elayna off while I held her, then I deposited her with him and went to clean up in the bathroom. Yuck. It was a miracle that none of it got on my clothes! :D I have since made amends with the poor babe, and given her lots of kisses!

Also, I need to send out a shout-out to my wonderful family! They bought us (drum roll please)... a CAR! You read that right, a car. It's a '96 White Oldsmobile Ciera! It's in good condition and runs very well! I am sooo excited! We have only had one other car for so long! This is such a blessing to us, and will be put to great use! Thank you to my parents, Dustin, and Bronson. You are the best!

Fun Times!

To start with, things are getting better and not so stinky! :) I had just been cooped up in the house for so long that it was getting to me... but I had a nice talk with Chance and he has been taking me out more. Sometimes it's just for something small, but something is better than nothing! I have also been getting more hours at work too! I love it!
For Halloween I helped my old neighbor with the Trunk-or-Treat at the Pima Rodeo Grounds and had soooo much fun! There were so many people there! It was a great turn out! There were so many fun and unique costumes to see! I wanted to dress up Duke, but I think that will have to wait till next year when he is older!
Duke is getting bigger every week and is now 14 weeks old! He is still not potty trained (dang it), but I am working on it! He doesn't go to the bathroom in his kennel at all anymore though! That's a big stepping stone! Now if I can just extend that to the rest of the house. *sigh* The people that lived here before us had dogs, and our carpet is old old old... I think Duke keeps smelling old things and that is why he pees on the carpet. :( He will get it eventually thought!
Sorry for the picture-less post by the way!

One of those...

Yeah, it been on of those... well if the truth be told, weeks. So to make myself feel better, I am going to list some things that I have been blessed with/ things that make me happy:
-I have a wonderful husband who is so understanding, caring, loving, and hard working.
-I have two sweet dogs that are perpetually happy to see me, even if I'm in a foul mood.
-I have a roof over my head... even if it is a leaky one :)
-We have a motorcycle that has gotten us out of a ton of scrapes (given, as Chance so eloquently put it yesterday, our "Hellatious car problems").
-I can go to church every Sunday.
-I have a calling in church that requires I go every Sunday (even the ones that are extra hard to drag myself out of bed for if I'm feeling a little down).
-Duke has become my own personal alarm clock- 6:30AM... and that means that I have started to go to bed earlier!
-The weather is starting to change day by day into fall, which is my favorite season.
There are more, but I am feeling significantly better! I hope all (3 or so) who read this have a super day!

Duke

This is the newest member of our family, Duke! He is a 7 week old Jack Russel Terrier!I got him last Monday. He is just so much fun! I love having him around! I am working on potty training him right now and he is doing really good! He didn't soil his kennel at all last night! :D

Look at that cute face! And this is his favorite way to lay down...

So, I bet you're wondering what Chance is thinking about all of this, eh? Well, he loves Duke!

Chance was at home sleeping, and I went into town to do some grocery shopping. I pulled into the Wal-Mart parking lot and saw a sign for jack russel puppies... and stopped to have a look. I saw Duke and fell in love! They were asking for $200 a puppy, without papers, and they were all boys. I told them I would think about it while I was shopping. I went in and priced some puppy stuff and still kept debating on it. I called mom, and she told me to go ask them some more questions, that I didn't have a whole lot of information on them. So I went back out, got my information, and was offered $175 if I bought him right then. Well, I hadn't done my grocery shopping yet! I told them that I was from out of town, and couldn't take him right then, and that I was still really thinking about it. I walked away, but with the owners phone number... just in case. I did my grocery shopping and while I was still in the store called the owner back and told him that I wanted the puppy! I wasn't sure if he would still offer $175, so I asked and he said yes! I purchased my stuff, got Duke, and headed home! :)

When I got home, Chance was still sleeping. I figured I would break it to him gently, since he knew I was wanting an inside dog, but thought I was saving for something else later on down the road. Well, I wasn't paying attention to the time and didn't hear Chance get up. He walked into the kitchen all groggy and saw Duke sitting in the floor looking up at him. He simply said, "What's that?" I said, "This is Duke!" "Oh." Then he turned around and went to get in the shower! I thought he was mad! He really wasn't, just a little shocked... and after he got ready for work, he played with Duke!

Welcome to the family Duke!
Daisy And Duke. Visiting Devin, Heidi, and Corey in Idaho was a BLAST! It was super good to see them, and I miss 'em like crazy! The scenery up there was very beautiful!
While there we visited the Yellowstone Bear World! They had a drive-thru animal park and fun rides for kids! My favorite part was driving through the animal park and seeing all the bears up close and personal! They would walk right by the car and not even think twice about it! Some of them were HUGE too!

These are some funny t-shirts they had at the gift shop! :)

And here is a picture of their new puppy Darby! He is such a fun little dog!

I would post more pictures, but I seem to have deleted them before saving them to my computer! Sad, sad day! (The only reason I even had some pictures is because I took some on my cell phone.)

And some other news... I started working again! Yay! I work for an optometrist that does eye screenings out of town. I am still learning a lot of new stuff, but am starting to get into the swing of things! We go about every other week (sometimes more), leaving on Wednesday nights and coming home Friday evenings. Not bad, eh!? I really enjoy that it is enough to keep me busy, but not enough to over-whelm me.

AND, in October, I get to go to my very first Girl's Weekend! YAAAYYY!!! The married women on my mom's side of the family try to get together every year for a special weekend with just the girls! I have been looking forward to this since I was little! They didn't do one last year, so I missed out, but this year we are going to Time Out For Women. I am soooo excited and wishing that more of us could go, but I know it's hard for everyone to coordinate!

By the way, is ANYONE else ready for fall? I can't wait!

Visiting!

The day after tomorrow, the girls in my family get to have a girlie weekend! My mom, sister Jacqueline and I are flying up to Idaho to visit my other sister Heidi and her family! I am MORE than excited about this trip... I haven't seen them for about a year! It's going to be a fun girls weekend! We get to see thier new house, and meet their new Yorkie puppy, Darby!
I have some sad news... our beta fish, Winslow, had to take a ride down the porcelyn express last week. He led a full life of one whole year! He was a pretty cool fish- really mellow. You know what this means though... I get to buy a new fish! Yay! I think I will get an albino one this time.
Our truck is working again! Oh glorius day! Turns out that it was having problems because the plug for the fuel injectors came unpluged! Easy fix... and free! We got to return the $700 worth of parts that we had purchased! Ka-Chow!
And to end on an icky note, Chance just killed a 5 inch centipede in our bedroom! EEK! One day, I will happily prosper in a insect free home, but that day is NOT today!
Anyhow, happy visiting here I come!

Just Stuff...

Hello everyone! I thought I would take today to update! My wrist is fully recovered from when I tripped over the dog! :)

Chance just got done with rope rescue training at work. He brought home a huge bag with all kinds of climbing gear in it! The thing is massive! He has had a lot of fun with it though, and can't wait to learn more!

Our truck took a turn for the worst... and decided the join the grave yard of other clunkers we have! Only for a while though, it will be revived asap! (As soon as we find out just what is wrong with it and how much it will cost to get it fixed.) For now we have the motorcycle... and Chance's Uncle was kind enough to lend us a truck that they aren't using at the moment. Life goes on! :)

When the Gila Valley Temple was still having it's open house, my sister and her family came to see it and invited me along! Beautiful right?!?!? My thoughts exactly. (I took it on my new camera that Chance got me for my birthday, and I love it!) Anyhow, I think that's about all I have for today. We were running back and forth and Daisy was chasing me. It was fun! She was behind me and was running much faster than I thought.... I turned around to run in the opposite direction and BAM! Daisy had run into my legs and made me do a belly flop! (Not really a belly flop, but I did end up on my syomach.) Thinking this was great fun to have me on the ground with her, Daisy proceeded to jump all over me while I was writhing in pain!!! I looked at my left hand (it's the one that cought most of my weight) and saw that my thumb was moved too far over, so I think it was dislocated. I got up and immediatly started to see spots. I hurried to get into the living room so I could get my feet up, and heard Chance getting into the shower. I tried calling for him, but couldn't tell if I was yelling loud enough because my ears were ringing too bad! So I had to wait. By the time he got out a few minutes later I was feeling a little better and could sit up, but my left wrist hurt REALLY bad. I could still move it though, so he didn't think it was broken.

I went to the doctor for a check up yesterday, and she said that where I was feeling pain at indicated that I might have fractured my scaphoid. (That's one of the really little bones in your wrist. Apparently it's one of the most common bones that break in a fall like mine, but goes undetected because you can still move your wrist.) She gave me a brace to wear that keeps my wrist and thumb mostly immovable, and sent me off to get an X-ray. The results came back normal but she said we are going to still treat it as a fracture, because it still could very well be fractured. I will go back in 2 weeks for a follow up. If I still have pain in that area, then I get another X-ray to look for any healing of fractures in that bone. Only time will tell!

New Curtains!

I got some curtains from my mother-in-law, Tracie, a few weeks ago! They look all stripes, but there are pretty designs in them too. The middle of the big curtain I tried to sew myself. It was supposed to be wavy like the valances on the other window, to match, but I aint a seemstress! It turned out ok, just had to add a few pins here and there to complete the look. The over all effect it had on our living room was awesome! It's so homie now! I just love it! :) (P.S. Just ignore this dirty house, it had been a busy day!)

Revision

In a post I made earlier today I said "thank goodness" about not working at Gila Outdoor anymore. A friend brought to my attention that this sounded really mean. This is not how it was meant. Thank goodness that I don't have to worry about that added stress anymore was all that was meant. We finally have internet out at our house! Wahoooo! Just wanted to share some info about whats been going on recently. Chance has been working for the mine in Globe for a couple of months now as a security guard/EMT, and is doing good! I no longer work at Gila Outdoor (thank goodness). And our dog Daisy is doing wonderfully since we found her in August of '09. She had her first time of being in heat a few months ago and gave us a puppy scare! No puppies though, so it's all good! Phew!

Here she is just hangin' out begging someone to play with her! She also has the cutest stinking smile...

Also, I tried my hand at home-made tootsie rolls a while ago. I think they looked like cat/bird poop! There is a small house about 30 miles out of Thatcher that Chance's uncle owns and he is going to let us live there, rent free just paying utilities! I am SOOOO excited! It's got 2 bed, 1 bath, kitchen, LR, and DR. It's a very old house that was probably made in the early 1900's and is all adobe. It's very solid! :D Anyhow, I already have my kitchen painted yellow and my theme is going to be roosters! I love it to death! We will hopefully be moving this weekend, but no guarantees yet. We just cross our fingers and hope for the best! I will be posting pictures soon after we move in and keep everyone updated.

Cockroach!!!

So today started out the same as any other day. I woke up, and walked into the bathroom to pee. I no sooner walk in than to see this BIG bowed up cockroach in the corner by the door looking like it wants to eat me. This of course make me squeel and go upstairs to use that bathroom instead. :) I thought I would be smart and kill the roach... but anyone who knows me knows that I hate squishing bugs on my own- living of already dead; therefore, I got the handy dandy can of bug spray! "YAY," I thought, " now I won't have to come too close to it!" HA! Right...
I got a chair to stand on and sat it up outside the bathroom and left the door cracked open a little, so as to still be able to spray the thing with out actually even being in the same room! Sweet! So I got up on the chair, sprayed the cockroack excessivlly, and watched it fall to the floor! VICTORY! But where did it go??? Did it land on the pile of clothes? I stepped off my chair to investigate! I peeked my head into the bathroom and didn't see anything... All of a sudden I FEEL SOMETHING ON MY LEG!!! I look down and low and behold that blasted thing is crawling up my leg!!! That set me to prancing and a screaming down the hall into the living room and back agian trying to get it off! It fell off in the hall and I high-tailed it back to the living room where I had to sit down on the couch with my head between my legs because I was hyperventilating! I didn't know where it went after that, but I suspected to the laundry room.... Anyhow, it took me 5 hours before I could even go back downstairs. I am SO chicken!

So this isn't a picture of THE cockroach, but it is one that looks very similar... :D
Hope ya got a kick out of it! We have the kitchen sink in WITH running water in it! WOHO!!! The bathroom is coming along nicely too! The tub is installed and has water as well, the toilet is almost all the way in too (just need to drill a drain hole out the rest of the way), and then all that's left is to dig a sewer line! Those are the major things... then it's just making it look pretty inside!!! Sweet!

As some of you may already know, Chance was layed off from his job with the contracting company he was working for about a week ago. Just letting ya all know that we're doing alright, and we're still dandy! Things seem to be working out for the better anyway, for the time being. Chance will be finishing his EMT class this month, and then will hopefull be getting a job as one somewhere! Yay!

Anyhow, on a happy note, it's almost Christmas!!! I am super excited to decorate my own place for the first time!
